About the Event
ARE YOU A PERSON WHO HAS EXPERIENCED AN ADVERSE OR LIFE-CHANGING EVENT WHO WANTS TO WRITE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCES?
Join this CQUniversity research project, in partnership with Queensland Writers Centre, where you can participate in 3 free workshops over a 4-week period using ficto-memoir to fictionalise an adverse personal life experience as a tool to explore possibilities for change.
This 4-week course will assist writers to advance their knowledge and skills in using ficto-memoir to fictionalise an adverse personal life experience as a tool to explore possibilities for personal change. The course explores the key concepts of identity, perspective and focusses on developing storytelling and creative life writing skills. Learners will explore creative strategies for elevating subordinate life stories and creating fictional characters and events to explore possibilities for change.
By participating in the study, you will also be asked to complete writing activities, questionnaires about your experience of some common emotions before and immediately after completing the program and partake in a short group discussion about your experience of the program.
